The parents of a 14-month old girl are mourning the loss of their young child following what should have been a routine dental procedure. The child went to a dentist in Texas, where her parents were informed she needed two cavities filled. Later, the dentist suggested four crowns as well. The baby was put under anesthesia while the Texas dentist performed surgery on several of her baby teeth. She never woke up from the procedure.
Now, the parents of the deceased baby are suing the dentist that performed the procedure for dental malpractice related to, what they believe, was an unnecessary surgery. Investigations post-mortem revealed no evidence of dental disease in the child, despite the dentist’s aggressive surgical procedures.
