Invisilign is not for everyone

Although general dentists are usually trained and competent in doing Invisilign braces procedures, it is a good idea to get a 2nd opinion from an orthodontist when considering a treatment plan presented by the general dentist who suggests Invisilign. For example, if you have a significant overjet condition you probably should not go with Invisilign and will probably need traditional braces. An overjet is when your top teeth [directly under your nose] are splayed outward at an angle to your bottom teeth. Although traditional orthodonture may be more expensive and might “show” during the treatment period, you should not let the lesser cost or appearance of Invisilign be the primary consideration in choosing to have your teeth corrected.
